Six foot square dining table, reclaimed monkeypod wood

This is a big six foot square dining table made up of two bookmatched sets of reclaimed monkey pod wood.  Technically all four slabs are from the same log, so they all have a similar grain to them.  So on the left and right sides you can see mirror images of the grains, and becasuse they are all from the same log, even the center seam matches up quite well.  Of course the two ends of the table have straight edges, but we thought leaving the raw edge on the sides would give some nice visual movement to what would otherwise be a pretty big all straight sided piece of wood.

The legs were another new addition for us.  Rather than using two big slab legs which would have given the table a much heavier, blocky look and wouldn't have been as structurally sound, we went for these four sort of fin shaped legs.  They make the table much sturdier, make it look a lot lighter and for the people who get to eat at this table, even with a full dinner party of 3 people on each side - no one will bear the full brunt of hitting a leg. Custom orderable.  Also, keep in mind as with all of our pieces, we can put a stain on it if you would like it darker - all the way up to an ebonized finish.  Lastly, as is the case with all of our wood pieces - large or small - we had two trees planted through American Forests.
